Our favourite summer blend for hot weather! Scented with fresh lychees by roasting the tea leaves with lychee on bamboo sieves, the natural sugars in the black tea are caramelised during the roasting process giving it a slightly sweet taste and a deep fruity aroma. This tropical fruit has been a favourite amongst the Chinese since the first century and we’ve even heard stories about how this Lychee Black Tea dates back to the Tang Dynasty, where teas were offered to the Emperor to gain favouritism, and what better way to gain recognition than to scent the teas with the Empress’ favourite fruit, Lychees.
We may not know much about gaining favour from Emperors, but this definitely felt like royal treatment in a cup!

Temperature: 95 Degrees Celsius
Brewing Time: 3 to 4 mins
Water: 230ml / 8oz
Tasting Notes: Medium bodied. Fruity with a pleasantly sweet finish.

Some people say that this naturally sweet tea has a light honey-like taste and people loves it iced – you can try doing a cold brew version by placing 2 to 3 tea bags in 1 litre of water. Allow it to infuse in a fridge overnight to get a delicious naturally sweet cold Lychee Black Tea. Add in fresh mint leaves for a refreshing boost!
